10 September Meeting with Jessica Stern

Stern Fellows Meeting

CTPP Fellows met with Jessica Stern to discuss the US response to ISIS and ways to target the terrorist group’s recruitment strategies.

Author and national security expert Jessica Stern is among the nation’s top experts on ISIS and religious-based terrorism. The Washington Post declared Stern’s most recent book, ISIS: The State of Terror “should be required reading for every politician and policymaker.” The book details how the group is recruiting Westerners, and its innovative use of social media. Dr. Stern is a Fellow at the FXB Center for Human Rights at Harvard’s School of Public Health, a Lecturer in Government at Harvard University, and an Advanced Academic Candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis.

The fellows also attended a public talk later in the evening; a video can be found here.
