The Fellows met with Duke Professor Peter Feaver to discuss the concept of Best Military Advice. Feaver’s work on the National Security Council, his scholarship on Civil-Military relations, and his ongoing interaction with prominent national security experts offered the fellows a different and enlightening view of how civilian leaders (often devoid of substantial military experience) ask and receive advice from senior military leaders.
